Seminarians during
Eucharistic Celebration in HTS Chapel |
At Holy Trinity Seminary the relationship with
Jesus is
considered
the foundation for true
spiritual formation and authentic discernment.
Two full-time
Spiritual Directors, living in the seminary community, carefully guide seminarians in developing this relationship and in the
discernment of
their true vocation. The daily celebration of the Eucharist
provides nourishment for their spiritual journey. Morning and Evening Prayer in common, as
well as opportunities to practice the authentic devotions of the Church, promote a lively faith. Communal times of silence on the hall
foster the appreciation of quiet in the seminarian's life.
Seminarians participate in daily Mass, Morning
and Evening Prayer, along
with time set aside for silence and personal prayer. They also attend
and participate in special annual events at
the Cathedral in downtown Dallas such as the Chrism Mass and Ordinations.

Seminarians gather for
Evening Prayer |
Community life provides that essential
opportunity for the insights of spiritual growth to be lived out in
Charity. The deepening spiritual life of the seminarians finds
expression in acts of brotherly, reciprocal charity, in concern for
the poor, and in deliberate choices about personal ways of living. Each
Seminarian is carefully guided on their personal spiritual journey.

Seminarians prepare the special liturgical presentations such as the "Living
Stations of the Cross" and "Night of Worship." (below)

Seminarians organize
a special
"NOW" Event or "Night
of Worship," where the youth of the Diocese gather for praise, prayer,
and worship in the HTS Chapel.

The Practicum is a unique way of learning about "being Christ for others" in the world. Seminarians work at hospitals, nursing homes and parishes throughout the Diocese of Dallas as part of their journey.
Spiritual Formation at Holy Trinity
Seminary follows a triple path: meditation on the Word of God,
participation in the sacramental life of the Church, and in charitable
service to others.
