St. Thomas Aquinas, Dallas, TX

Sophomore / Second Year

I was born in El Paso, Texas. My first recollection of vocation was when I was eight years old; I served as an altar boy for two years at St. Joseph Catholic Church and from the age of eleven to eighteen, I attended mass on a regular base. After I graduated from high school, I found myself looking for a greater spiritual direction but I was not sure what it was. So I focused my energy toward attending mass on a weekly base and joining the Del Norte Lions Club, where I held various roles, a few of them consisted of working with the center for the deaf, and organizing the food pantry for homeless shelters.

At the age of 30, I moved to Dallas Texas, I attended a retreat at St. Thomas Aquinas Church on March 3, 2002; this was the turning point in my life. Soon after the retreat was over I spent most of my free time at time at St. Thomas Aquinas where I volunteered as a Second Grade Sunday School Teacher, Assistant director for the RCIA program, First degree Knight of Columbus 11937, member of That Man is You!, and I attended little Rock Scripture study.

In June of 2008 I attended the Vocations Awareness retreat hosted by Holy Trinity Seminary and the Serra Club. This is where I finally answered the call of God and now I am entering into my first year at Holy Trinity Seminary and University of Dallas.
