I grew up in a devout Catholic household. My mom – ever since I can remember – has attended daily Mass. When she was pregnant with me she received Holy Communion for nine months. A week before she gave birth to me, our parish priest asked her to stay after Mass to give her (and me) a especially blessing. That night my mom had a dream where God asked her to name me “Eynar”, which means battle leader.

I first experienced a call to the priesthood when I was around 3 years old. I would "play Mass" at the foot of my bed, while my parents and brothers patiently listened to very long 'homilies’. At the age of seventeen, while still in high school, I began to go on discernment retreats and inquired about the priesthood. It took me a while to answer God’s call, but He was patient with me and walked with me the entire way.

I feel extremely grateful and happy with my vocation. I hope and pray that one day I can become a good and holy priest.

“If anyone wishes to come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. What profit is there for one to gain the whole world yet lose or forfeit himself?" — Luke 9:22-25
