Pre-Theologian II

From the time I was 12 years old, I have wanted to be a professional trumpeter; but as time progressed, it became apparent to me that God was closing the door in one area and opening the door in another. Soon I began to struggle to even play the trumpet with efficiency as I did, until all together it became a battle to play. This was the beginning of my discernment to the priesthood. When I began to contemplate the notion that God was calling me to something better, I decided to begin praying for discernment. To make a long story short- after spending an entire summer in prayer- literally I felt certain about my calling to the priesthood. It was when I decided to leave behind my personal desires and ambitions, and focus my attention on the will of God that I realized His plan to be more fulfilling than I ever imagined.

“The eye is the lamp of the body. So if your eye is sound, your whole body will be full of light; but if your eye is not sound, your whole body will be full of darkness, how great is the darkness.” — Matthew 6:22-23
