Formation . . .

As a college and pre-theology level seminary, Holy Trinity Seminary puts a special focus on the human formation of our seminarians. Here they will lay the foundation for the maturity and stability needed for theological formation and ultimately for an effective priestly ministry.

Seminarians and formation faculty
meet weekly in Formation Groups.

The Formation Program at Holy Trinity Seminary is built on regular, weekly meetings with the other seminarians in  Formation Groups led by the Formation Faculty, and centered on a set curriculum of topics.

Seminarians also meet individually with Formation Advisors who encourage and direct their formation while advising them regularly of the faculty's on-going evaluations.

Community life at Holy Trinity is the actual environment in which seminarians are challenged and supported in the important issues of human and spiritual formation

For example, through assigned house jobs and a weekly, communal work order, they learn to think of the seminary as their "house" and to accept responsibility for its maintenance.  Community life, as well as the whole formation program, promotes a balance between structure and order on the one hand, freedom and personal responsibility on the other.

Seminarians also participate in a variety of Apostolic work such as Practicums at Hospitals, Nursing Homes and in parish Youth Ministry. Some have the opportunity to travel during "Alternative Spring Break" with the University of Dallas -- to Ecuador or Camden, New Jersey, to work with the poor or on projects like Habitat for Humanity.
