Seminarians attend classes at the University of Dallas.

It was the vision of Bishop Thomas Gorman, former Bishop of Dallas and founder of Holy Trinity Seminary, to create a place where seminarians, while preparing for the priesthood, would study with the men and women whom they would serve in the future. Holy Trinity Seminary collaborates with the University of Dallas, a nationally acclaimed Catholic Liberal Arts University. While emphasizing the classical approach to Western tradition, UD offers a study of literature, philosophy, history, psychology, science, and fine arts based on original texts of the great Western thinkers. This challenging curriculum gives seminarians the knowledge and skill to be thoughtful and articulate priests.

A special degree of Philosophy and Letters provides seminarians the balanced study of many disciplines while receiving the necessary Theology and Philosophy credits to enter Theology. With the full resources of a Catholic University available, Holy Trinity is able to provide an academic program for both the college level and pre-theology seminarian.

The University of Dallas is located just south of Holy Trinity Seminary.

The University resources also allow the Seminary to provide a full-time 20-hour-a-week English Language Program for seminarians who need to learn English. The Intensive English Program also offers a Transition Semester Program which allows seminarians to take English language courses that focus on a particular academic discipline along with one or two courses for University credit. This enables a gradual transition into University life while maintaining the 12 credit hours needed for a student visa.
