HTS Seminarians participated as Assisting Ministers
and in the congregation at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe in
downtown Dallas, Texas. A crowd of hundreds packed the Cathedral
and hundreds more participated outside in a tent viewing large screen
projection. This historic Installation of our Seventh Bishop for the
Diocese of Dallas also drew thousands who viewed the live, on-line
streaming provided by the Dallas News through
www.dallasnews.com.
Rev. Msgr. Michael G. Duca, Rector, was an Assisting Minister to Bishop
Farrell and Rev. Rodolfo Garcia, Vice-Rector, was one of the Master of
Ceremonies, preparing the Altar for Mass (see below right)
We noticed Paul Iverson, (Dallas), HTS Sophomore, holding the Holy Water
as Bishop Farrell blesses the Congregation for the first time, and John Szatkowski, HTS 2005,
who both assisted Rev. Anthony Lackland (one of the Master of Ceremonies
who worked with the Bishops and was Ordained to the Diaconate by Bishop
Farrell. Also from HTS were James Yamauchi (Dallas) Senior, who held the Sacramentary for
Bishop Farrell, Jeffrey Baynham (Dallas) Freshman, who greeted Bishop
Farrell on behalf of the HTS Seminarians, also participating in primary
roles were HTS Alumni -Arthur Unachukwu, HTS 2005, held the Bishop's
miter and crozier. Marco Rangel and Cruz Calderon, HTS 2000, assisted

Numerous visiting Texas Bishops as well as dignitaries from around the
country and some foreign visitors concelebrated the Sacred Liturgy. A
poignant moment as Most. Rev. Charles V. Grahmann participates in the
Liturgy with fellow Bishops. (below right) Below left, Fr. Rudy,

Cathedral after the crowd entered... and TV remote trucks from all the
major networks lined Olive Street near the Cathedral to cover the
Installation Mass.

Members of the Dallas Police Department guard the Cathedral Entryway, as
dignitaries, including Most Rev. Jose Gomez, S.T.D. Metropolitan
Archbishop of San Antonio, exit in Procession. A reception for Most Rev.
Kevin J. Farrell was held immediately following the ceremonies in the
Cathedral.
John Szatkowski, HTS 2005, said of his experience directing the Bishops
at today's ceremonies, "It was a beautiful and joyful celebration. It
was neat seeing the universality of the Church as Bishops from near and
far and of various religious orders were present for this historic day."
We appreciate all courtesies extended this photographer to be able to
take the pictures and show them on our HTS website.
